Supplier Quality Assurance Program Evaluation ProcessThe CMRR Project is committed to meeting the Quality Assurance requirements of DOE Order 414.1C, Quality Assurance and 10CFR830, Subpart A, Nuclear Safety: Quality Assurance Requirements, using NQA-1-2000, Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facility Applications as the basis of its Quality Assurance Program. Suppliers of items and services to the CMRR Project will be required to meet these requirements. Organizations performing procurement planning activities interface with CMRR Quality Assurance to ensure that the Supplier evaluation process is effectively coordinated to support CMRR Project schedules. The LANL Supplier evaluation process is managed by the Quality Assurance Division Office (QA-DO). CMRR Quality Assurance will support the QA-DO in the evaluation of prospective CMRR Supplier Quality Assurance programs to verify that the Supplier's Quality Assurance program addresses the applicable requirements for the intended scope of work and to determine the effectiveness of implementation. Documented approval of the Supplier's Quality Assurance program and listing of the Supplier on the LANL Institutional Evaluated Supplier's List (IESL) are required before the subcontract award. As an alternative, as determined on a case-by-case basis, procurement documents may require the Supplier to perform work in accordance with the CMRR Quality Assurance Program Plan (QAPP) and Quality Assurance Implementation Plan (QAIP). Under this approach, CMRR Project managers are responsible for ensuring that the Supplier performs all work in accordance with CMRR Project requirements. CMRR Quality Assurance is responsible for performing Quality Assurance surveillance and audit activities as necessary to assure the effective implementation of the CMRR QAPP and QAIP.
